recording on PowerBook G4

I'm planning on buying a PowerBook G4. I want it to basically behave as a simple four track recorder. Is there anything else I should be considering before I purchase one of these? Is the 128MB ram going to be enough for my purposes? I really don't plan on doing anything crazy with it. I want to plug my guitar and microphone into the machine and maybe be able to add some effects to recorded tracks.
