h | h | BitHeadz announces the all new Retro AS-1 2.0 analog software synthesizer for Macintosh OS. -- Retro 2.0 goes beyond the capabilities of even the most modern synths with things like complete MIDI and NRPN support (you can control every parameter via MIDI),virtually unlimited modulation routings, built in stereo effects and sound quality that has to be heard to be believed! With the new external audio input function of Retro 2.0, you can process your own vocals or any other audio source using Retro's powerful filters, effects and modulation routings. There is also a new degrade effect, a pitch shifting effect, and a multitap chorus. G4 optimization has made it possible to double the maximum polyphony of Retro from 32 voices up to 64 stereo voices. 3 stereo oscillators per voice works out to a whopping 384 oscillators. New FreeMIDI, OMS, and ProTools patch names support is also included to automate the process of updating patch names to make using Retro with your sequencer easier than ever! There is now DirectConnect support for use with ProTools Mix and Mix Plus systems which routes up to 34 streams of digital audio into the TDM bus. MOTU Performer & Digital Performer users can select Retro AS-1 as input sources on the Performer mixer audio channels using MOTU's MAS 2.0 plug in format. Cubase(VST), Emagic Logic, and Vision users will be glad to hear that Retro AS-1 supports ReWire*, which allows the audio output from individual Retro MIDI channels to be routed directly into the sequencer's mixer. Retro supports sampling rates up to 96 kHz on a Mac and up to 48 kHz on a PC for the highest fidelity sound, and the Record to Disk feature responds to MIDI start/stop commands. Retro AS-1includes a MIDI processor capable of splits and layers with an arpeggiator and chord functions, an on-screen keyboard, a 16 channel mixer, and over 1000 presets including hundreds of new sounds.
